Which FFP?

Good morning dear Travellers,
I'm italian but I write in english in order to make this topic useful for as many people as possible.

Next summer I'll fly with a Skyteam Company towards Russian Federation, economy class. This flight could be repeated in future. I already have a Star Alliance FF program, and now I would like to subscribe for a Sky Team program too. I'll begin to use it next summer for my russian travel but obviously I'll use it even for other flights with Sky Team elsewhere.

I would like to have you advise on the choice between Alitalia Millemiglia, Aeroflot Bonus and AF/KLM Flying Blue.

My habits are mostly european flights in economy. My interest are in the longest possible expire date of miles, the possible use of miles for shopping with commercial partners, the possibility to pay regular tickets with a mix of money and miles, the online booking of award tickets without addressing ticket offices, the best accumulation of miles in economy routes (sometimes maybe short routes, so with a minimum guaranteed amount of miles).

Thanks if you can help me and give me some preliminary advise

Regards

I will not delve in detail into which FFP could be more or less useful for you; I'm sure other users have a better overall view, since I am mostly focused on AZ.

There is just one thing you should be aware of, since you mention economy travel in Europe: several AF tariffs (namely the MINI tariff) are very economic but grant no miles; keep that in mind when choosing the company you will fly with as you may have some very bad surprises.

Also, re. awards, if you choose to go with AZ it will be close to impossible to reserve online award flights, unless you choose very basic flight (point to point) operated by AZ itself. Forget about multi city itinerary or, even worse, multi carrier flights.
We all hope Etihad will take the current website and move it from the 90s to a more modern site.
