Question Cooperation in Skyteam

Dear all,

I want to have a card from BEG to MVD.

There is not direct flight, not with one stopover. I must make at least two stopovers in my trip.

I've found nice flight BEG-MPX-MAD-MVD where first segment is Alitalia, and other two are Aireuropa.

There is no travel agency in Serbia who can give me card from BEG-MVD as one card, only separate cards, so if there is amy delay I am stuck without anything.

How come that both Skyteam carriers don't work together? We have office of Alitalia in BEG and they are also trying to help. Still no success.

Do you have any opinion about this?

1. AF and KL offer tickets from BEG to MVD.

2. The fact that apparently no airline wants to sell the routing you prefer does not mean they don't work together. You are overgeneralizing.

Cooperation in Skyteam

Also Alitalia with Aerolineas argentinas...

Same trip over BUE.

I just came from there yesterday and I'm trying to find nice connection for next trip in November.

In MVD cancelled flight, I had big problem getting from AEP to EZE on time for next flight. MVD-AEP Aerolineas EZE-FCO Alitalia.

I'm Elite plus in Skyteam and only want to have all benefits from them.

Airfrance isn't "supported" in BEG (explanation on Airport), so they refused two baggage policy on code sharing flight. Also AF goes till Brazil (was in Rio 3 weeks ago) where I go to next flight with TAM (Star allianze)

That is the reason I'm trying to connect two Skyteam standard flights. Maybe I'm to sorrow from last experience, sorry.

There's really something I don't understand in your story. AF, by example, is clearly represented in Serbia and flies to MVD (it's a tag on their EZE flight). You can buy a all-AF ticket in Serbia BEG-CDG-MVD (as said previously, the CDG-MVD flight is making a stop in EZE but it will be sold to you as what is called a direct flight CDG-MVD). The BEG-CDG leg will be operated by Air Serbia, in code-share with AF.

Cooperation in Skyteam

At 30.9. I was flying with JAT (now AirSerbia) codeshared flight to Paris. At that time they had flight to Rio (GIG) after that TAM was flying direct to Montevideo.

At checkin desk of AirSerbia they refused two baggage, they said it is because they're acquired from Etihad and they don't approve two baggage, so I had to take other baggage as hand baggage.

Also in lounge they also refused Skyteam Gold card, same reason, they are not connected to Airfrance any more. No problem I had Priority pass.

For next trip I've checked AirFrance too. Truth they fly to Montevideo from CDG with one "technical stop".

That stop is in EZE, and you continue flight from AEP. Also you have it on their site. Checked yesterday again. You must pickup your baggage, try to get on other airport on time and checkin luggage again. Been there, done that, on return

I try to connect Alitalia and Aireuropa flight now, and that I cannot. I have separate flights from BEG to MPX and other with Aireuropa from MPX to MVD. I just want pleasant flight with less stress then last time.

Unfortunately not all carriers in an alliance code share on all flights. I am based in TLV and if I want to fly TLV-MRY, I can fly TLV-EWR-LAX-MRY on UA but not TLV-IST-LAX-MRY on TK/UA even though they are both star alliance.

This is wrong. What you are mentioning here is a connection between AF (arriving from CDG in EZE) and AR (flying from AEP to MVD). What I mentioned in my previous post is that AF is flying on their own metal CDG-EZE-MVD. EZE is indeed a technical stop and there is no transfer to do, in this case from EZE to AEP, which would be indeed very inconvenient. This is the same AF plane continuing to MVD after arriving in EZE (although there is a crew change in EZE).

If you are booked with an AF-coded flight, the AF baggage rules apply. If you are booked under Air Serbia code, then their own rules apply

I have used Skyteam PC Travel desk and we are both right

I think you are talking about flights AF394 and AF393.
Unfortunatelly I was looking at 11.11. when I should fly and there was no connection like that only that one with EZE AEP change.

I've checked that again on AirFrance site.

Anyway in mean time I called AirEurope in Spain and got form them same answer as from AlItalia in Serbia: No matter they are both Skyteam, they cannot provide me with "partner" connection from BEG to MPX or FCO from where AirEuropa flyes.

I decided to take two separate cards and go over Milan. Constantly with Sky team, no codeshare (at least not with AirSerbia) so I'll have two luggage policy 100%.

Sorry I made so much confusion, I had to find that ticket fast and travel agencies from Serbia are giving me only headaches about choice.
