But the bigger question is this.. Even if its not i direct flight should it matter? If your an elite plus member you will get extra miles for flying indirect and you still get to use the lounges. Plus you will find the price to be the same or even slightly cheaper than a direct flight.
My flight to Hong Kong from Brisbane non direct through Taipei is cheaper than direct flights.

There are skyteam carriers that fly sin-icn... its called korean air. And sin-pvg...called China eastern. No alliance has all direct routes. Star Alliance has a few more than Skyteam and Oneworld has a few less than Skyteam.
