Tried it this past Monday in DTW, concourse B, and it worked. He scanned my BP, mentioned the flight number and on-time, and waved me in.
Tomorrow, I can try at the AeroMexico lounge in MTY.

I just got KLM Gold status thanks to their recent status match offer. Will having gold status on KLM allow me lounge access when traveling domestically within the U.S.? I know over in the Star Alliance this is possible when you have gold status through a non-US based carrier. Is the policy the same with Skyteam?

No. You need to have a same day international connection on Skyteam.
