Matching Status
I have a few flights from Europe to South America in the next months and AF,KL or AZ are options. I wanted to evaluate which FFP to use. I know that FB benefits going less and less over the years. I am not sure about AZ or DL (not flighing DL a lot). Furthermore, is there any ST carrier at the moment matching status (i.e. LH HON)?

OTOH, since you fly mostly premium fares, as evidenced by LH HON, you should look into AF/KL FlyingBlue. I consider FlyingBlue a superior program for premium fare flyers. You don't really need status if you are on paid F/C fares anyway.

DL has been offering status challenges to elites, not outright matches, typically based on the FF programs of other USA legacy carriers. Currently PM seems to require 26,000 MQM in 90 days. DM is not ordinarily offered.
It's anyone's guess how DL would respond to a status match request from a LH HON. You might need to escalate to someone with decision-making authority.

I managed to get my AF-Platinum match with my LH-SEN last year (http://boardingarea.com/blogs/onemil...platinum-tier/), although this may no longer work... Else, I do not know of any matches except DL.

Best shot at getting a *A match?
I am AA PLAT and I want to have options so I would also like to have a *A elite level that will give me lounge access on international *A flights.
Which *A airline would be my best shot at getting a *A Gold match for my AA PLAT? Is it true that you can use the *A lounges on international flights even if your ticket is not from the airline (not even codeshare) you have your *Gold card from?
(used to be US Airways Chairman's but moved to OW and lost that... I still have a bunch of miles with US Airways but want to consider all options. My main interest is lounges, but SWUs are also a plus - e.g. AA EXP gives you 8, US Airways CH only gets you 2...)
Thanks!
