AFKL or DL
It looks like some of my travel will have to go to ST as *A schedules don't suit. Lounge access isn't as important as I will be flying paid business so which program would suit? AF, AZ or DL seem to be suitable options but I find AFs earning chart really confusing. A sample trip would be LHR-CKY return.

For paid business, AF has a pretty good FFP, but I wonder what you find confusing about the earning charts.
If you fly DL most of the time, it might be best to choose DL's program. You typically get more perks with the program of your home airline.

AF has different earning rates for business class depending on business class.
Consider you earn at least 125% of the mileage, up to 175%. With DL, you will always earn 150%
But to redeem, AF is easier and has promo@wards, a 50% reduction.
So, if you are mostly flying AFKL in J, go for FB!

My first flight is Feb 3 so I wonder if I should wait till then to open the account in order to max my year or do they work on calendar year in which case it wouldn't matter?
