Question Skyteam from TPA to Bali?

Hello all, sorry for the random question, but I can't seem to figure out a route using the lovely DL.com

Does anyone have any suggestions on round trips from Tampa to Bali? I assume I would have to fly on other SkyTeam airlines and not Delta mainline. Where would I have to fly to/through? What of the SkyTeam airlines offer the best service for this?

I have a stash of SkyMiles I've been itching to use for a free vacation and the Hyatt in Bali looks AMAZING

Any suggestions?

Just FYI there are literally hundreds of resorts, many better and worse then the Hyatt. Do not get caught up on one, I would stay at a few different ones.

I did a Bali trip in the winter and looked over all the possible connections back then. Unfortunately, Garuda Indonesia airlines wont become a sky team member until next year. So the only realistic route I found was going through Seoul on Korean Airlines.
However, since I wanted to use SWU's for the longer hauls, I opted to go through Bangkok (via NRT) on Delta. I flew a non-skyteam airline from BKK-DPS for the final leg - on Thai Airlines. (Actually ended up getting a 1st class ticket on Thai Airlines for about 600 bucks.)
Spent a couple days in Bangkok on the way over & back. Turned out very nice.
BKK-NRT was on a 777 with flat beds. I would do the route again.

Was that $600 each way? The price I found on Thai Airlines' website for several sample months equated to just under $1400 R/T.

I went in November. Flew DTW-HKG, then took Jetstar to DPS via MFM and SIN.

Sorry, yes it was 600 each way- 1200r/t. I bought them online from Thai Airlines in baht, and it turned out to be a better deal than using secondary sellers like Expedia.

Just a tip to the OP about the 2 Hyatts in Bali. Bali Hyatt in Sanur is old, but the service there is superb - particularly for Diamonds. It's much more Balinese-like than the Nusa Dua Grand Hyatt Bali property (which is pretty isolated - Nusa Dua itself is full of all the international resorts, and lacks a personal touch, despite its much newer and 'grander' facilities). There's a complimentary shuttle that runs 4-5 times a day between the two resorts.

Bali Hyatt is quite a good deal for award redemptions, being Category 1 (5000 points).

I would look at using CI (China Airlines). You would probably connect through LAX and TPE (Taipei). You will find pretty good availability that way. If not, look at getting to NRT, then changing to CI. Or Shanghai via China Eastern, then on to TPE. You can also redeem on MH (Malaysia Airlines) via NRT and KUL/BKI.

Also, remember that KE has huge black out dates, so you will not be flying through Seoul any time this summer.
