All of which represent ways to redeem miles at the low level. Have you heard of that term?

Nah, no need to 'lower' myself or my family to those levels....you can have those prom queens all to yourself...

Actually, the codes I have mentioned, with the exception of maybe UL, are of well know airlines with international operations spread over as many as four continents. Google is your friend. I am more concerned about names such as flour, Cheese (real), Sugar, Ground Beef, soda, Shampoo, Deodorant, Baking soda, Chocolate Chips, Milk, Ice, Butter, Batteries. You help me with the above codes, then if you are unable to find the airlines whose codes I have mentioned, I will help try to help you. :)

I've made an attempt at going through and picking them out, but I may have missed some - here goes:

N830MH takes the cake by far for finding the most two character combinations :)

Thanks in advance for your offer to help!

Some nerve for an F0 :D
However, next time you get an upgrade, tell her DYKWIA and ask her to bake a cake for you. If she refuses, complain.

Why yes, yes I have. I just redeemed several low-level awards and have redeemed many in the past. Have fun flying the exotic Egyptair and the glorious US Airways. And you can even use your miles on UNITED, the shining jewel of the friendly skies!

one of the Gulf-area airlines (no, SV (Saudi Arabian Airlnies) doesn't count -- EK, QR or EY, though I know it will never happen)

But continuing recent trends I actually predict the next member will be JS (Air Koryo). And also that FTers will complain that JS gives 0% mileage for many discounted Y fares and only 50% mileage for many others, and that their award redemption calendar is broken...:p

NW, and Skyteam have been dating MH for a long time. NW had even started a flight to KUL. You can earn miles on AF/KL FF programme. DL is just afraid to make a commitment. Is MH not good enough for DL?

What MH can do, can be done by 9W also. The same thing goes for UL. Buy bagging 9W bings in a decent airline and opens up opportunities to earn miles between India and other points in Asia. I am not agai8nst MH, but if there is a choice between MH and 9W (or even AI) I would prefer the other.
One or more of EK, EY, QR would be stupendous.

ooops, sorry, I knew VS and meant to delete it. For the others, thanks!

Sri Lanka has an airline? Who would have thunk it? :D Obviously, I've heard of Emirates and Etihad, but we don't get them exotic type airlines in PHL, ATL or DAB :D I've vaguely heard of Jet (I thought they were a budget airline in Pakistan or something - I'll have to research them since, apparently, I'm probably wrong :o )

How many hours before departure? 2 or 2.5?

Yes, Srilanka does have an airline. I am told Sri Lanka is a good place to visit. Few years ago,you could buy a really cheap RTW ticket starting in CMB.
(Colombo, Sri Lanka)

Emirate, Etihad and Qatar Airways are said to have really nice premium cabin.

Jet Airways is not a Pakistani LCC. But a full fledged airline from India, thought to be much better than AI (Air India). I found AI to be quite decent in economy, certainly better than DL. I don;t know if they still do it, but a few years ago, they offered PDB (non alcoholic) in coach too. More flights on Jet would have meal service than DL does, even in coach.

I've always wanted to go to Sri Lanka but the civil strife has always put me off. Come to think of it, I've not heard anything in the news in years. I should research it. It may have settled down. Perhaps it's time to research a trip. I wonder if SkyTeam can somehow get me there? :)

For a short while, Emirates was available to Delta for SkyMiles awards and, I believe, some folks were even able to get Suites. As usual, Delta quickly figured out that people were actually redeeming SkyMiles for something desirable, and quickly dumped Emirates. I still can't figure out why Delta hasn't picked up RyanAir as a SkyMiles award partner. Probably because Delta figures that RyanAir is too premium for Delta customers
