Sixt and Automatic cars...

Sixt and Automatic cars...

I have a question...I will be a renting from Sixt for the first time next week in CGN. I requested an Automatic car, however, unlike American car sites there is no stated upcharge from manual to automatic.

My reservation has it requested but does not list the additional cost, if any.

My question to you regular Sixt renters out there; is there a extra charge for automatic? and if so, what is it usually?

I currently have reserved and FXMR class car with requests for Automatic and GPS.

Also, is there any charge for extra drivers? My girlfriend is coming with me and I would like to give her authorization to drive.

I can drive manual (even though I prefer automatic), but if she is going to drive she needs automatic, she doesn't know how to drive stick.

Hi HobokenFlyer,

Sixt definitely doesn't charge extra for automatic cars. Usually there is also no charge for extra drivers, but this could depend on your rate. Have fun in CGN and feel free to PM me, if you have any questions!

As pointed out by Stefan0521 Sixt won't charge you for an additional driver and for automatic.

There is a simple reason why they don't have any fee for automatic. While you can book an automatic in the US there is no such possibility with Sixt. You can only request automatic but there is no 100% guarantee that you'll get one. In your case I'd give Sixt another call or email them and tell them that you need an automatic by any means and they'll do their best to give you one.
