Frustrated and ripped off

Hello, my husband and I just returned from a trip through Germany and Italy, using Sixt rental cars in both countries. Our first car pickup was at the Frankfurt Airport returning about 26 hours later at the Munich Airport. We were quoted $179 for the rental, which was fine. We picked up the car which they upgraded free of charge and asked if we wanted navigation. We declined. We heard the rules and signed and then headed off. The next day in Munich we were trying to see exactly where to return the car and asked a Sixt employee where to return. She showed us a detailed map. Great. Returned the car where she said and done, right? The next day I get an email (in German) saying we are being charged almost 400 euros for the less than 2 day rental. I have repeatedly emailed back and forth not only trying to resolve why the charge is so high but to also get an invoice in English. None of which have worked. The person emailing has come up with every round about excuse to NOT answer my questions and instead passive aggressively acts like I am an idiot who has never rented a car. Now no one seems to be able to help and we are stuck with a distance charge (our original reservation was for unlimited km) they are charging us because the upgraded car has a navigation system(?), fuel (fair to charge but almost $11 per gallon) PLUS they now are claiming pick up at an airport is a 20% surcharge plus another 20% surcharge on gas?!? Meanwhile our friends who returned their car the SAME time and place we did , got a discount for returning to an airport. I am so disappointed in the customer service and lack of honesty this company has shown so far. As of now, I will never use this company again and won't recommend them. If anyone from Skxt can offer any actual help, I would be very grateful. Thank you.
