Sixt & Izzirent

Good afternoon everyone.

I'm due to rent a car at eindhoven airport from 23/10/12 14:00 to 27/10/12 07:00.

I have to questions :

After checking several platforms, I came to the following :

Izzirent : 126.52 (unknown kilometers, anyone an idea? )
Sixt.fr : 157.98 (illimited kilometers)
Sixt.nl : 199,94 (800 km included, 0.16/km extra) and different price for Collision damage waiver option

1) Does Sixt do an effort to align on izzirent prices ?
2) How comes prices are different depending on the country dot ?
3) Is there an other sixt website with even lower prices ?

What is the policy for out of office schedule drop off ?

my plane leaves at 8:50, which means i'll probably have to drop the car at 7 in the morning. Is it possible and is there an extra cost for that ?

All prices without any particular discount or card membership.
I'm new to car renting but my actual job will probably gets me into the thing quite often, and I'd like to choose the renter I'll go for once for all.

Thank you for your help and advices.

That's hard to say...

Izzirent is a broker who (most likely) uses tour operator rates. They usually have unlimited mileage - if not it's stated prominently right in the quote. To make sure, call or email them and ask. Especially seeing you have no history with Sixt at all, it's highly unlikely they'll match the izzirent price when booking direct.
At Sixt, the outlets in different countries are separate entities who can set their own prices to a degree. There's no real logic, but at least the internet has made it real easy to shop around. I usually use the German site (sixt.de) which shows a price of 143 Euros for the cheapest car with unlimited mileage and CDW (500 Euro deductible) for your location and time.
It's absolutely possible to return the car even when the station is closed (key drop box). You only need to mention that when you pick it up.

practical advice:
Depending on how much you'd want/need to drive, see that you get a diesel car. Diesel is about 30 cents/liter cheaper than gasoline in NL plus fuel economy is about a third better, so even though you'd be paying a little bit more for a higher car class (the smallest car group doesn't have diesels) you'll end up spending less overall.
How old are you? As you say this is your first time renting a car, check the minimum age and drivers' license requirements (21 and two years, respectively - higher for larger cars).

When you need rental cars for business often, get a corporate account with Sixt. In addition to discounts, this also expedites the rental procedure. Although I have found tour operator rates from portals like izzyrent or billiger-mietwagen.de even beat corporate discounts in most cases, especially for rentals of three days and longer with insurance added.

Re: That's hard to say...

Thank you bhomburg for your reply.

The fact I'm new to car hire and without a shiny card does in fact not interest anyone else than you (which by the way is already nice since your advice is worth a lot...) especially by Sixt. I would have thought anyway that customers service was meant as written, not as high-end customer service...

I'll use your advice for the diesel car and look at europcar since I found a good price/service deal at eindhoven airport. For the age, I'm 45 and if I'm due to pay an extra, it will then maybe be the "oldie one" :-)

Thanks for your answer.

I think that you have already some very good insight from bhomburg.

Out of hours drop off....there is a key box at the information desk in the middle of the terminal.

The airport opening times are as follows:

Mon 5.30am
Tuesday5.30am
Wednesday 4.30am
Thursday 5.30am
Friday 4.30am
Saturday 5.30am
Sunday 8am

our location is open from 8am to 10pm Monday to Friday
On Saturday 9am until noon.

So it is possible to return the vehicle at 7am by using the keybox.

1) Does Sixt do an effort to align on izzirent prices ?

We can provide a quotation, please send me a private message or e-mail with your telephone number, I will arrange that an Agent calls you.

2) How comes prices are different depending on the country dot ?

Our prices reflect the market for the country in which the quotation is obtained and whether business is inbound or domestic there are many variables that determine the price. The products may differ so do check what is included in the given price.

3) Is there an other sixt website with even lower prices ?

Hope that by arranging number two we take care of number 3 ;-)
