Problems with Sixt iPhone App

I did experience problems with the Sixt iPhone app. It constantly quoted a price that was way above the price I get when using the Sixt website (using the same user account, Sixt card no. and rental details). Does anybody of you have similar problems?

I am contacting our App creation team who will look into the issue and should resolve the matter shortly.

Best regards
Gary

Same here...It quoted double price for same car category compared to website (CLMR) so ended up using it only once in the past 9 months.

Just tried it and there is a TopOffer for weekly rental in Germany. POLO for 29 per day (online is 27,71). When you go to book in Dus City Center (non premium location) it comes up at 31,23 per day...

Hi totti and sindjic,

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some problems with the prices on our app.

Please could you send me your details in a pm, and if possible some examples too.

Thanks,
David

@:-)Hi,

My colleague Sven who created the application has the following technical response:

Receiving higher quotes can actually only have two problems.

"The user may not have logged in properly on the iPhone profile.
> I would suggest the user to make sure he has the latest update and that his login is correct that he used when he set up the profile on the phone

- The user might have a different region set on his iPhone compared to the one used on the web. For example, the user bought the iPhone in Germany then the default region setting of the iPhone is Germany although the user might live in the UK. But the user can change the region in the general iPhone settings. This value is simply used as the POSL when requesting offers from Sixt.
> I would suggest that the user check his iPhone region settings."

Please do not hesitate to contact me directly if you have any questions gary.coughlan{at}sixt.com

Thank you Gary for looking into that matter. The second explanation may be the problem. Even though my iPhone with bought in Germany and runs on T-Mobile I set up the phone with a UK setup (language, keyboard, region format etc.). I do have a germany address in my Sixt profile though and the problem occured when I wanted to rent a car in Germany. While this would explain the problem I don't think that such problems should occur: When I log-in with a certain profile and rent in a certain country the app should match the information and not relay on the setup of the phone IMHO. Anyway this is a minor problem and it won't stop me from renting with Sixt

Cheers,
totti
