SIN Layover
Itinerary: JFK-NRT(DL 3799) 1 hour 40 minute layover (C class)
NRT-SIN(NW19) 13 hour layover (C class)
SIN-DPS(SQ944) (Y class)
(1) Will DL interline my luggage through to DPS?
(2) Do I really want DL to interline through to DPS (or am I better off checking it to SIN in case DL manages to lose it)?
(3) Assuming that the luggage is checked through to DPS, will I be able to stay airside in SIN, and use the Transit Hotel?

1. Yes DL/NW will send your luggage to Bali for you.
2. Why would you want to exit airside at SIN to retrieve the bags only to recheck them to DPS? You are better off checking them thru. If you re check them in SIN on a Y ticket you will pay excess baggage fees if the weight of the bag exceeds 20 Kilos.
3. Book the transit room well in advance of your transit date. Otherwise you may need to wait several hours for a room to open up. Another option is to exit the airside and check in at the new Crown Plaza next to the new T3.

Yes, you should check your bags all the way through. You don't need a hotel; stay at the SQ lounge in either T2 or T3. They are very nice.

If NW does not thru check your bag to DPS if you're on a seperate ticket, then exit the terminal and check into the Crowne Plaza hotel.
NW uses T1, and SQ DPS flights depart T2.
For airport transit hotel info, check: http://athmg.com/
Please note that there are 3 transit hotels. Best for you to take the one in T1 as I think the little transit train running in between T1 and T2 may be shut after 2am. Otherwise its a long walk to T2.
NOTE: Moving this thread to SINGAPORE forum as transit situation does not really involve SQ, other than the connecting flight.

Keep in mind that you won't have access to your checked bags at the transit hotel even if they're short-checked to SIN. You'd have to clear immigration to get them. Unless you already have your boarding pass for the next leg, you then won't be able to re-enter the airport to reach the hotel - and you can't just check in for that leg, because it won't be on the same day. So, carry on whatever you'll need for the night and the following morning.
