Must-try Restaurants!

I have a few perennial favorites on my list, but was wondering what you people like.

My favorite is The Canteen by Les Amis. It is absolutely amazing. :)

I think all lot of good S'pore food are found outside restaurants :) but that's just me :) I prefer hawker and coffee-shops to restaurants here but then I'm local....

Breakfast in the Tiffin Room at the Raffles must be one of my favorite meals in the world. I've heard lunch is also fantastic, but I usually skip lunch because of the great breakfast. Nice atmosphere, and great selection of foods. The muffin flavors usually change daily, but they are always incredibly tasty.

Have not tried the Canteen by Les Amis, but will try it next time around.

Which hawker centers? I have found all of them to be on a steady decline in terms of food quality.

Old Airport Road, Changi Village, Longhouse, Chomp Chomp to name a few. Of course not the entire hawker center but rather specific stalls. You'll know by the number of 'endorsements' they have :)

Get out of the city-center and the hawker stalls improve.
Try,
Gim Moh, Tiong Bahru, Chomp-Chomp, Old Airport Road (best fish head curry in town)

One of my favorite restaurants is Wah Yu Wee seafood out East Coast road (400 block, I think) Chili and pepper crab, my absolute favorite is steamed Grouper with ginger and scallions, doh miao and garlic sauce, or Kailan, rice and or steamed buns.
Simple but wonderful healthy dinner. (Pick out your own fish - they always have a great selection in the tank.)

Exactly the recommendation I would've made! I've heard good things about ChompChomp from my local pals, and Tiong Bahru is one nobody has to twist my arm to get to.
