Millenium Orchard Hotel
Has anyone ever stayed at this property? How does it compare to the Marina Mandarin at Marina Bay? I hear it is similar quality but much better location.

Hmm... You mean the Orchard Hotel at the junction of Orchard Road and Orange Grove Road right?
It's 4-star for a start, compared to MM which is 5-star. MM also just completed a refurbishment, so am not sure whether you are referring to the MM of old, or the refurbished one. To be honest, I have never seen the rooms of the Orchard hotel so can't really comment on them. Though they do have a nice buffet in one of their restaurants. The foyer certainly doesn't look at grand as the MM.
Location-wise, they are both about 10 minutes walk from the closest MRT location. The Orchard Hotel is along Orchard Road, but it is right at the end of the road, so would probably need about a 5-10 minute walk to where the action is along Orchard Road. Given the choice, I would actually go for MM juz for the location alone. The MM provide pretty decent views of the Singapore skyline; u probably see nothing in Orchard.
Here's my take on it. Hope it helps!

Yes, if you're refering to the Orchard Hotel, I have stayed there.
I don't feel comfortable commenting on the hotel itself, since my experience was awful, but I think it was more a combination of different factors: I booked it last minute on Expedia, the hotel was under renovations, the rest of the hotel was booked, etc. I would stay here again and probably have a much better experience, though bad memories make me look elsewhere first.
As far as location, I prefer hotels right along Orchard Rd that are a little more "in the action." The Marriott, for example, is 5 minutes down from the Orchard Hotel and right above the MRT station. The Orchard Hotel is probably a good five minutes from the Marriott, and therefore you're looking at a slightly longer walk to get to the "action" for the most part. The Orchard Hotel is closer - and more convenient to - the Botanical Gardens and National Orchid Garden, if you plan to walk in that direction.

Can anyone comment on this hotel? The photos on tripadvisor show a plethora of different room types making me wonder if all the rooms have been renovated to the same standard.
