Snazzy restaurant on the 70th floor of the Swissotel:Stamford(I think) in one of the towers in the Raffles City mall. The decor is amazing as it has very very tall ceilings.(maybe like a hundred feet) Wood trimmings everywhere. My wife and I went there for dinner. There is a separate entrance and elevator for the restaurant on the ground floor of the complex. The view is magnificent at night of Singapore. It reminds me of the Signature Room at the John Hancock in Chicago. The restaurant itself is not all that big from what I could tell. We did not make reservations and were able to get a table with a great view. All the window seats were taken. Tables were a bit close to each other as I could cleary hear what other people were talking about. Wife ordered pasta and I ordered lobster. We shared a shrimp cocktail and a salad. Her pasta came out all oily with no sauce(different from what it said in the menu I think). She had about 2 bites and called it quits. I received 2 half-dollar sized medallions of lobster and my wife ended up taking one of them. I took a try of her pasta and one forkful was enough for me. Luckily, I was not too hungry and was more tired than anything else. We had just spent the whole day on Sentosa Island. The staff there was quite friendly but service took a bit of a long time. Our check took 15 mins to get processed. Very nice place for couples as that was all we saw there but expensive food but obviously the place to go for the view and decor.

I did New Asia, another part of the entire Equinox dining complex/concept with a view, I think in summer '03 or was it '02 after having been told about a supposedly maginificent lunch deal with tons of seafood, blah blah. I was completely unimpressed with the poor quality of Asian dishes like the sushi, etc, despite it being Singapore.
Nice view, definitely, but the food was a letdown. Didn't think that much of the scene either, it seemed like it was primarily patronized by slightly pretentious yuppie types (just my opinion)
