Grabshare Wait

Tried out "Grabshare Wait" from SIN T2 to Kallang area hotel. S$11 for one person.

You wait "up to 3 minutes" for Grab to determine a share candidate. 1-2 riders on your request only.

I waited about 3 minutes. Driver showed up maybe 3 minutes later. We picked up another rider who had confused SIN T4 with T1 , then drove to drop me off first.

Verdict: faster than S$9 door to door shuttle where it's unpredictable where in the passenger order you'll be dropped off.

Grabshare works fine when departing from the airport. Used it several times when I was having carry-on only.

Not so when you want to use it at city. Wait times can be 10-15 min and more.

Looks like GrabShare is different from GrabShare Wait.

I'm looking at options now and, while GrabShare is available, GrabShare Wait is not. I'm not sure what the discount for using GrabShare Wait is.

I think grab share wait is not available during peak times.

Maybe. One could also make a case that, during peak times with fewer available drivers, GrabShare Wait allows more sharing, reducing the need for drivers.

I often use GrabShare and am the only pax. Cheaper for me, but less revenue for Grab.

In this instance I didn't book the ride until later and was the only pax for a GrabShare Wait booked ride, saving S$1.
