how long for a layover to explore
Hi all, I have the option of having either 6 1/2 hours (5PM - 11:40PM) or 12 1/2 (11AM - 11:40PM) hours layover in Singapore. I really only want to go see the night safari and maybe grab some food. Is the 6 1/2 hour option enough to clear immigration, ride a taxi, then back thru immigration during these hours? Thanks

You're probably going to miss some bits of the night safari, as the park doesn't open until 7.30pm and even by taxi, it's 30 mins back to the airport.
It's a long time since I was there (and I prefer the regular zoo to be honest), but I'm sure walking was better than using the tram. You can probably scratch the surface in that time, but....
So just how finely are you prepared to cut it? Changi is some size (as is the park) I'd want to be heading out by 10pm just to make sure there's no snafu in getting a cab, or a problem on the highway, etc etc.

I'd take the 12.5 hour layover. The night safari is pretty neat, but like mentioned above you won't be able to see all the shows they put on and make it back to Changi in time to catch your flight.
You could get a shower at a club within Changi if you have access. If not, be prepared to be miserable on your next flight because you will likely be drenched in sweat by the time you return to SIN.
I would spend my time exploring and sampling the local eats. Save the night safari for an over night trip/layover.
