You can go to the lounge. No hotel room.
Or rather than spending eight hours in the lounge, go into town and ramble around and have something to eat before heading back to airport.

You can also explore the airport: butterflies, cactus garden, plane spotting, free movies, free internet, food, duty free, the slide, etc. If you go landside, there's a food court used by many airport employees where you can eat well and cheaply.

However, for these times, take the MRT to the city and have fun. If it were the middle of the night, there would be more reason to stay at SIN.

Not dependant on airline or ticket class. There is a free 2 hour tour that runs a few times daily and is a great way to break up a long transit.

More info here..

You can really easily go to town and enjoy what Singapore has to offer. I would not spend more than 2hours at the lounge. The taxis are cheap and quick and usually immigration is quick as well.

Highly variable given ERP charges, when you go, and traffic.
Trans Cab
Other taxi providers have comparable rates.
(peak hour is almost all day, so I would add that.)
You can also take a bus/MRT to the airport.

But as an order of magnitude typically from CBD to Airport will come out to be roughly $20-$30 SGD (or approximately $15-$25 USD), unless you get stuck in a Chrysler and that will be more like $30-$40 SGD.

For OP, to catch 23:55 flight, its more likely to be base fare +25% ... so about $20-22 ( + $3 surcharge for picking up in CBD). Shouldn't be ERP at that time of night. So all up around $25.

You can easily use the MRT at this hour. It shouldn't be too crowded and you need to go to the airport before the MRT system closes for the night. This avoids the anxiety of getting a taxi in the evening, when there can be long waits at hotels, for instance.

I would recommend the MRT (train system) which will get you into town in less than 30 mins. It runs regularly and up until late evening.

A map can be found here.

You can buy single use tickets at the station to your chosen destination but you will need Singapore Dollars.

Take the train from the airport (change at Tanah Merah Station) then all the way into Bugis, which is a pretty thriving shopping area with lots to do. It will take ~30 mins by train. You can walk into Little India from there.

Alternatively, go to Outram Park and change to the purple line and go to Little India MRT station.

Taxis are good here but be wary, during peak periods (5-10pm), it is almost impossible to hail one from the street as the demand goes up, and the drivers prefer to wait for dispatched (booked) jobs, where they make extra $$.

This is more a SIN topic, not specifically related to SQ C class. I am moving the thread to the SIN forum.
