Singapore around XMas/NYE week

Can someone speak to what Singapore is like around these times? Are businesses and such generally open or do they tend to shut down? Thanks!

Suggest you try searching before posting. "Singapore Christmas" turns up this thread from last year http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/singa...singapore.html that answers your questions.

All stores are closed Christmas day, there is no Boxing Day in Singapore like in the US and Canada. Its pretty festive but to me Christmas is snow and cold not hot and humid like in Singapore.

I don't think retail stores are closed on Phs (Xmas and 1 jan) in Singapore. These are supposedly the most traffic days for retails.

As for discounts, nothing like in the west during the festive periods.

Xmas in an Asian country is definitely different than the west.
