Question Restaurant on the beach?

Folks, I've heard about a restaurant in SIN that supposedly seats you right on the beach (with sand and all!) and is in a secluded spot. Supposed to be very romantic, under night sky and all with dim lighting. Unfortunately I've forgot the name of the place.

The only place that came to my mind was Marina @ Keppel Bay and the private dinner on the rocks @ (I think) Shangri La but that's not exactly what was described

Anyone knows about this fairy place?

Three options I can think of, none of which quite fit the bill:

There's a strip of beachfront restaurants on Siloso Beach in Sentosa, but I wouldn't call any of them particularly romantic -- pizza, calamari rings, pitchers of beer, loud music from the clubs, etc.

The Cliff at the Sentosa Resort (ex Beaufort) is romantic and well regarded, but (true to its name) on a "cliff" (well, hill) above the beach, not right on it, so you get views of lit-up container ships twinkling at night. It's also quite expensive.

East Coast Park also has a dozen-odd restaurants by the beach, but they're all across the walkway from the sand, most are downmarket (hawker centre, McD's, etc) and none of them are uber-romantic. Mango Tree does pretty good Indian though in a fairly nice ambience.

Pasta Fresca Da Salvatore at the East Coast Sea Sports Centre used to put tables down on the beach, sand and all. I suppose I'd classify it as romantic as my ex and I used to go there every now and then - it was a great place to dine at 10pm+ and you could see the planes emerging out of the night sky on their approach to Changi which worked for both us frequent flyers.

This was a few years ago though, I don't know whether its still open.

Interesting inputs. I've been to the East Coast Sea Sports Center recently but didn't see any Pasta Fresca? I agree that it's got a very nice view of the planes at night.

Is there any other places for dinner and plane spotting around SIN? I'd love to take the SO there, even though she can't tell a 777 from a 737 and doesn't quite get my fascination with aviation and just blames it on my USAF service.

there's one that serves food by the beach, tables in sand and all - the only problem is i went there maybe five years ago and am unsure if its still there. it has to be in the changi beach club http://www.changibc.org.sg/

you get a good view of flight landing with the boom if thats your style.

i'd say its off the beaten path, so less crowded but not easy to get to.
