Exclamation The Shrinking PPS Membership Year

My requalification package arrived today (which now includes the duty free vouchers ^) , 3 weeks after the 'early reset' of my PPS sectors and miles on April 1st, 2006. Shortly after the reset, I noticed that my membership year (usually ends in June) now ends in May instead. It turns out that my membership card also shows a new expiry month of May. That means a one month reduction of my membership year.

I have checked with the PPS coordinator, which agreed that this is unusual. She has sent a message to SQ HQ regarding this matter and will get back to me. She has checked a random PPS account to find the membership year also decreased by one month.

Anybody else experiencing the same thing when requalifying this year?

My PPS years ends (and has always ended) at the end of April. I requalified at the end of January. I haven't received my new card yet (12 weeks later), but the SQ website indicates: "Current PPS Club membership valid until 30 Apr 2007"

If the policy changed, perhaps it changed after I requalified.

Mine was not shortened that much - just 1 month.

StarG, isn't it good news for you? You'll get your next set of duty free vouchers sooner!

As much as I would love to, it does say "NON TRANSFERABLE" and there is a fingerscan device attached to it with "StarG only" written on it.

Hmm - the vouchers are valid for one year, right? If the renewal is only 11 months then you can combine 2 years worth of vouchers to get something really expensive?

The vouchers have the same expiry date as the card's expiry date (11 months). But since it arrives early (3 weeks after 'early reset'), yes you can combine the vouchers from the two years.
