Skl Lounge Singapore

Am flying Man-Sin SQ ( C class ) and then transfer Sin-Bkk TG ( C class ). Was wondering wether would be able to use SKL lounge on arrival in Singapore, mainly to use the shower facilities even though travelling onwards on Thai ? Anyone know if this is possible? Have used the lounge before between 2 SQ flights, but not sure wether it can be used for SQ C class arrival passengers.

regards

Unless you're PPS, the likely answer is no, unfortunately--it's not meant to be an arrivals lounge. Suggest you look into other options for the shower, such as the transit hotel.

The SATS T2 Premier Lounge isn't that bad either to take a shower and relax for a while.

That's not quite true. The SKL is not a *G lounge. The only people who are eligible to enter are PPS members, Raffles and First Class passengers (SQ or codeshare), Lufthansa C and F, and Air New Zealand BusinessPremier passengers. Everyone else gets the Premier Lounge nearby.

That's correct. The SIN SKL is one of the few exceptions to the rule.

That is just wrong. Some people are confused becuase SQ limits *Gold passengers traveling in Y from access to the SKL at Changi. The limit applies only to Y passengers. There are probably a dozen threads here and on the UA board about this exact topic. Everyone thread progresses the same way.

Access to the SKL lounge at Changi is not based upon *Gold status. Status is irrelevant. Departing C/F boarding pass on UA/TG/etc. for a non-elite still allows for access to the SKL lounge at Changi.

*Gold in Y = Premier Lounge.

I have used the SKL Lounge 3 times in the past two years with departing boarding pass in C/F on TG/UA.

I think the issue is that there is a conflict between the Star Alliance published rules regarding lounge access for premium passengers (here) and SQ's "published" rules (see picture linked above ).

While Star Alliance's rules indicate J/F *A pax have access to all member airlines' designated J/F lounges, SQ's own rules limit this to only a few *A airlines. So in order to increase your chances to get in, probably the best thing is to have a printout of the *A rules with you.

One of the other issues is that the wording of the sign needs to be improved.

I guess the ambiguous wording is to ensure they are not overtly breaking any *A rules.
