Using PC points to become *G

I just want to make sure that I got this right. I've got about 20k miles on my Krisflyer account currently. If I transfer 30k miles from my Priority Club membership I will reach 50k within the current reward period.

Will my PC miles count towards Krisflyer *G ?

Unfortunately not. To have the miles count toward elite levels, they will need to be credited flight miles, accumulated on SIA, Silk Air, Virgin, or any Star Alliance airline.

Why does Virgin count? It's not part of Star.

No, but they do have an agreement that allows you to earn miles.

And SQ owns 49% of Virgin Atlantic.
