The Press Release from SQ website:

SIA Reveals The "First To Fly" Logo For Its A380
05 January 2005

In the lead-up to the world’s first A380 taking to the skies, launch customer Singapore Airlines (SIA) unveiled its specially created logo for the SIA A380.

With the taglines “First to Fly – the Singapore Airlines A380” and “Experience the Difference in 2006”, the message is clear:

Come 2006, SIA will be the “FIRST” Airline in the world to operate the A380, and the world will be invited to “experience” a travel concept that is different from what it is today.

This new SIA A380 logo also captures the most outstanding feature of Airbus’ truly double-decker aircraft in the twin row of windows, and underlines SIA’s commitment to remain the most innovative and service-oriented company in the air travel industry.

SIA has established many firsts time and again. The Airline will do so once again with the A380 when the aircraft joins the SIA fleet in 2006.

Airbus will be revealing to the public the first A380 in Toulouse, France on 18 January 2005.

The SIA A380

Singapore Airlines (SIA) is the launch customer for the Airbus 380. The Airline will take delivery of its first A380 in 2006. SIA has 10 A380s on firm order and another 15 on option. The A380 can accommodate 555 seats in a standard, three-class configuration. However, to ensure the highest quality flying experience for our customers, SIA’s A380 will have less than 500 seats in a three-class configuration. SIA placed the order for the 25 A380 aircraft, worth US$8.6 billion including the cost of spares and installed engines, in 2000.
There were speculations that SQ will introduce a new livery with the new A380. So I guess that is off?

Doesn't look like it, although they do have over a year so you never know.

The question is, are we going to try and arrange an FT 'do' for the official inaugral ? .

From another thread it seems like there is already some interest. Hey, why not?

Of course (fingers crossed it will be a convenient time of year for me)
