Finally, SQ in *A colors

From the NinerVictor forum:

Just a quick note to let everyone know to expect 3 airplanes in SQ Star Alliance colors in the coming weeks. The airplanes are 9V-SPP, SRE and SYE.

It's going to be quite different from the rest of the other Alliance carriers. The SQ tail will be retained, "STAR ALLIANCE" in billboard lettering across the fuselage but will not go below the window line stretching from Doors 2 to the last door. "Singapore Airlines" lettering running from doors 1 to 2, its quite prominent. Additionally, both the Megatop and Jubilee titles have been removed... seems like a trend looking at the recent Leadership removal.

As we speak, SYE is in the paint shop now and due to be the first aircraft in new colors. She's due out Jul 16.
9V-SPP is a 744
9V-SRE is a 772
9V-SYE is a 773

I agree ...but what is that Iberia jet doing in Changi

I agree. The paint job is so-so.

What is interesting though is the presence of the Iberia 747 in the background. The photo was taken in Singapore and Iberia doesn't fly anywhere in Asia ...

The Iberia 747 was ex-SQ (9V-SMC), repainted to Iberia colours.

amusing. bland, all white fuselage so there's minimal repainting involved when reverting to SQ colours?

Has Star Alliance changed its livery design in the tail section? SQ uses its own design on the tail section, but the rest of *A has been using the Star logo.

Here are examples of other *A members' Star Livery:

ANA

SAS

BMI

AC

LH

That's interesting. I'll look out for it in Barajas.
