Legal Recourse for SQ833, 6Sept2023.

RE: SQ833, 6 September 2023 incident.

Would like to remind those affected pax of your rights.

Should you can’t get any compensation for your all kinds of loss from SQ. Eg: loss of business dealings, non-refundable expenses, etc). Must be able provide justification/proofs.

You could subsequently file your case with SCT for a fee of $10 and up. No Lawyer representation. Link below. This is a known case widely covered in media. So should be easy to claim. However SQ has been known to play hardball in case of righteous compensation.

When have airlines been responsible for consequential losses? If you're going to dispense this sort of advice, at least back it up with the relevant legislation.

Advising people to pursue legal proceedings without representation or proper advice is really poor form. The fact that you think a case is "easy" simply because it was widely covered in the media makes me think you're not in a position to be encouraging people to go down this rabbit hole.

That is what travel insurance for. To pay for any delay/cancellation.

What can you claim from SQ? You can try to make a complain and maybe they will give some KF miles.

It's funny how blindly unaware people are about the lack of laws, regulations and obligations when it comes to flying. Just because the EU has some piece of regulation means nothing for the rest of the world.

It’s funny how blindly unaware people are about the existence of CAAC consumer protection regulations in China. Just because you only know about EU regulations doesn’t mean the rest of the world is lawless.

I studied the material very carefully and nothing applies to the situation that occurred. Please enlighten me and others how this regulation will force SQ to do anything. The incident doesn't qualify as a tarmac delay as doors were never closed before departure.
