Sq33/34 sfo-sin

Hi
I have booked an economy ticket on SQ 33/34 from Sfo to sin a couple months ago. However, when I tried to the same flight for my family members, the economy are not available.
And it seems like from November 2022 onwards, there are no economy seat available on sq33/34 (cash or award) Which is very strange. Premium economy and business are still there.
does anyone know what happened?

Just flew sq33 this week.
I believe it uses a350-900url which only has business and premium economic, no regular economic seat.
for such a long flight, you probably don’t want sit in an economic seat for 17 hours anyway.

thanks! When I purchased my ticket, it said sq will switch back to regular a350-900 in November 2022 and that’s why I am able to purchase two economy tickets.

I am worry that if they ended up using a350-url with no economy. They will cancel my flight. SIN is a layover and I am flight to MLE.

they will upgrade you to PE. Someone else were upgraded previously as well.

if not , they will rebook you to SQ31/32.

anyway SQ34/33 will be swap back to normal A359 from 11/sept till end of Oct for flight departing on day 1/3/5/7. So not sure this will carry on to the winter schedule or not

I have a feeling that the plane was swap. However, I don’t want to have too much hope that they will upgrade me to PE (when I only pay for economy).

my flight to MLE is 10am so the sq33 will work perfectly as I get to MLE in the morning.

thanks!!!

I'm in a similar position booking flights for July 2024. I'm booking SQ34 from SIN-SFO and the seat map looks like the 350-900 (non-ULR) seat map. Anyone happen to know if they are discontinuing the ULR? It looks like they are allowing Y bookings after May 1. However, the cash price is practically the same for Y or PE which makes me wonder if they will still end up doing ULR PE seat map. Not sure whether to chance the hack or just book the PE award seats. Any advice would be appreciated.

SQ has switched the ULR from SQ34 SIN-SFO to SQ 36 SIN-LAX from May 1 2024.

In any case, it doesn't function as per the price. Either you are booked in Y or you are booked in PE. If you want to fly PE it's best to book PE directly. SQ is the last airline to upgrade you for free.

Actually, SQ does not upgrade for free...

You're incorrect on this. While very uncommon, it's not an absolute no.

When SQ subs ULR for regular 359, everybody who's booked in Y gets an "upgrade" to PE. This regularly occurred on SQ 33/34 last year.

Especially not for PPS Solitaire.

This is simply wrong. It only happens if the flight is heavily overbooked. This is when PPS passengers get bumped up. If there are no PPS passengers, then it's KFEG and so on. As a non status holder your chances of getting upgraded "for free" are <1%

I don't think this is true. Any data point on this? SQ always rebooks in the same fare/cabin class if there is an aircraft swap.
