Cancelling points ticket and points expiry

Because of the coronsvirus extending its reach into Europe I'm going to cancel a redemption ticket. However I know that some of the points that paid for that ticket will have expired in the interim had I not used them. Does anyone have any experience of SQ's policy in this regard? The points are lost forever or SQ'll give a short extension of validity so they can be otherwise used?

Eventually found the answer in the FAQ - I think the technical answer is the IMFKD code. I guess I could see if they'll waive the fee because of coronavirus but maybe I'll wait a few more weeks until the WHO manage to get enough cojones to announce a pandemic
