Well, that’s true. That was the case. But it was barely a problem.

So far I've flown probably 6-7 times. Things that definitely need fixing. The seat you are sitting on shakes during turbulence. The AC point cannot accept an Apple charger because of the indentation of the plug point.

Things that probably can't be fixed but would be nice. The hand luggage compartment is so tight that I need to ensure my Tumi 22" cannot have a centimeter bulging out.

Hi, so there are still old suite on A380? How can we tell when choosing the flight? Or this is just base on luck?

You can check the link below, it is by one of the flyer here,
https://mainlymiles.com/2019/07/22/s...to-march-2020/
(If there is no last minute aircraft swap)
currently not all the route are flying the new suite, so you might not get any depending on your travel route.

No idea. SQ might not update all A380 also. Those version 2 (with upper deck business class) are undergoing refit first. And the first one took 8 months. 2nd one took 11 months (this plane just have an air test today). 3rd is currently undergoing refit (should be ready by June).

For the version 1 , I would think it is easier for SQ to just replace the seats to all new seats and replace the old suite with new suite (at the current suite position) instead of moving to the upper deck

When I search for award availability on SIN-MEL route, there are 4 777-300ER and a additional A350-900 operating around July 2020 (was 2 777-300ER and 2 A380 this year), does it mean that they are phasing out the A380 on this route for reconfigurations?

There wasn’t 2 A380 on Mel in 2019. Max only 1 A380
in 2020, the A380 is being deployed in Jan, mid of feb to early March n whole of June and maybe nov/dec.

there is actually no permanent A380 for MEL. For summer schedule in 2019, the A380 actually was swapped from Mumbai route. This year, they are swapping the A380 from Beijing Route in June

Thanks for answering. Really appreciate it. I wrote to SQ via FB and is interesting for the girl to say is the new suite and yet she said its 1,2,1 configuration. I did ask her further, isn't the 1,2,1 config the old suite? She did not bother replying back. Will SQ occasionally swap newer A380 for the JFK route?

It is old suite.
No new suite A380 have been on SQ26/25 because it will cause disruption to other routes as each plane need around 55 hours to be back in Singapore if it is deploy on SQ26/25.
