Also interested to know about the replacement schedule as I have the SIN-MEL redeye on this old aircraft (connecting from PVG on the 777-300, also with the old product) just before New Years. I've flown it on a day flight to DPS a couple months ago and it was fine, but 14 hrs PVG-SIN-MEL probably not quite.

There will only be 1 777-200 n 1 777-200ER left by next March. So both SIN-IST n SIN-MEL-WLG should be getting upgrade.
What plane we won’t know. IST should be the Long haul A350 or 777-300ER or while WLG should be the regional A350/787
actual timing we won’t know yet. SQ usually update the new schedule (ie change of plane) around 1 month ahead as they need to wait for final confirmation of the delivery schedule.

I flew one last December from SIN-TPE.
It was comfortable for the four hour flight and I was able to find a position between bolt upright and flat that I could relax in. What I really didn't like is the outmoded IFE. There's no main menu, you have to click between channels on the remote like a TV and the AVOD is an early generation where it's hard to fast forward, pause and rewind and sometimes the system would abruptly change the channel on me so I'd have to go back and find my movie and restart it.

It is not a problem per se on a short day flight. I was on a 330 SIN-DPS a couple months back after many years not having flown SQ. The service was stellar, much nicer than a lot of the long haul 380 business class experiences I have had with them. But for a 6-8 hr flight (day or night), it is a very outdated hard product.

Hi guys,
I'm travelling to Wellington from Melbourne in Mid Dec. SQ's website is still showing the 777-200 aircraft but I was wondering if there was any news of an aircraft change to a newer one in the near future. The only reason why I'm asking is because I'm unsure whether to travel in Y or J. Leaning towards Y if it is the old 777-200. Thanks.
