KrisFyer Blocking Some "Premium" Redemptions?

Haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else but I've noticed that Krisflyer is blocking all premium awards on certain routes for weeks at a time. One example would be SIN-MXP-SIN in June & July. Anyone else noticing this?

SIN-LHR-SIN seems to be another route affected in June-July. FRA-SIN also looks either popular or artificially restricted...

What do you mean blocking? If you mean revenue management are reducing award seats because they think they can sell them, then sure, yes? Why would you think they would release seats if they could receive cash for them?

In the past there would be at least standard redemptions on some dates. In this case they aren't even showing any days available.

Agreed, "blocking" is the wrong word and concept. A carrier doesn't "block" it's own award space, it just doesn't release any. Which is a fairly common phenomenon across all programs, and growing more so all the time. (Though SQ still remains one of the more generous carriers in these times of ever shrinking award availability.)

Yes, often Rome (FCO) seems to fall into the same category (even with waitlist closed on every single date, for all business class award types).
