Question about stopover for award ticket
Hi,
I know on a saver award round trip ticket we get one free stopover. So I can do SIN-FRA, stopover, FRA-JFK, and then return JFK-SIN.
But can I do for the same number of miles this itinerary: SIN-MUC (or any other airport the same region as FRA), stopover, then FRA-JFK and return JFK-SIN?
I am not sure what this type of itinerary is called (hence not sure how to search for it), so apology if it's been asked in the forum before.
Thank you.

This would be an open-jaw ticket. It will require three separate redemptions, i.e. very expensive. Just add a stopover on a SIN-FRA-JFK round-trip and pay for a domestic flight or train ticket between MUC and FRA.

Ok, thanks. If that's the case, yes, it wouldn't make sense to book it. I was just hoping that they allow regional stopover

A related question: I noticed that I can put in a "free stopover" when I booked SFO-HKG r/t award. However, the only option was SIN! Is this expected behavior, or did I miss an option to find another destination?
