Scoot drops HKG
With pretty short notice...
Scoot Schedule Update | Cessation of flights
With effect from 30 October 2016, Scoot will no longer operate services to/ from Hong Kong. This is to allow Scoot to better maximize its resources and expand its network to more destinations.
Scoot will operate its final SIN-HKG (TZ322) and HKG-SIN (TZ321) flights on 28 Oct 2016.
Guests booked to travel from 30 Oct 2016 onwards will be transferred to Scoot’s sister carrier, Tigerair and notified through email of the transfer and their options by 30 Sep 2016.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank you in advance for your understanding.

Haha ... I didn't know that scoot's official sister carrier was Tiger (and not the parent company SQ ...).

SQ, cheap as always
Seriously, both Scoot as well as Tiger aren't good airlines, so I guess you'll get about the same LCC product than you booked, but this is really some kind of bad show.. but then, no EU261 in Singapore

Actually what's on the Scoot website is a bit misleading, instead the route is replaced by Tigerair.
Tigerair will launch the same route and timings with A320 instead from 30/Oct onwards.
Timetable
TR2058 SIN>HKG 0200/0555 A320(x24)
TR2059 HKG>SIN 0700/1100 A320(x24)
Tickets are on sale already, but are MUCH more expensive than other Tigerair flights.

Right - when the launched Scoot, they tried to keep it away from all of their brands. Now, the latest media releases speak of TZ and TR as (lol) same same but different

It seem that there is too much Y capacity on this route. Both CX and SQ had a run of <$300 SGD sales in recent months.

Oh no, no more ScootBiz on the short red-eye. It was a decent product for the overnighter, especially for people who don't mind paying a little extra for more comfort. I can nap in a ScootBiz seat, but doubt if I can even sleep a wink in a Tiger cramped legroom with limited recline seat.

I'll never do a red eye with a young kid in tow if the flight is less than 5 hours, whether in a B787 or a A320.
Why did you book Scoot in the first place??
