Possible to upgrade on mixed fare-type?
Hi All,
Is it possible to upgrade from Y to J when booking a mixed fare-type return trip on SQ metal?
For example, I want to use some Krisflyer points to upgrade on one leg of a trip. Can I select 'Flexi-Saver' fare for the outbound and 'Flexi' for the inbound, and upgrade on that (inbound) leg?
It would appear from the website when making the booking that it's not possible;
"You will be able to see the detailed fare conditions on the payment page, before you enter your payment details. When you mix fare types and cabin classes, the conditions of the most restrictive fare is applicable for the entire itinerary."
But I've also asked at the SQ call centre and have been advised that it is.
Can anyone clarify or confirm whether it is possible?
Cheers!

Thanks Guy,
Is there anything specific I need to ask for or a certain phone number/channel to use in Australia? I forgot to mention previously that the SQ call centre through the general reservation number said upgrading with a mixed fare type is possible, but the dedicated Krisflyer Gold number said both flights need to be Flexi.
Can you book the fare over the phone and then upgrade online to get the 15% discount, or do you have to upgrade over the phone too?
Thanks!
