If none of the above applies just figure out which one of your cards will yield the highest miles per $ and link it to that one.

Plus after that I forgot I had a reservation that was prepaid on the card and the hotel only charged it just prior to my arrival.

The UOB Visa Signature can be a pain to keep track when traveling. I just exceeded my monthly limit from just a few night's hotel stays in Europe.

Hello all
I'm quite a noob here and you guys are seriously A-Mazing.
Citigold having a welcome 30000miles for deposits of $200k
And the client acquisition officer who open the account for me
Was nice enough to ask me to quote any family/friends who have
Any citibank relationship to get the $200 referral taka voucher.
Only drawback is that u gotta keep the money there for 3months
http://www.citibank.com.sg/citigold/welcome_prog.htm
Std Chtd has a even better welcome package for the same amount
Giving 60000 miles.
But since I have a banking relationship with them
I'm not eligible
https://www.sc.com/sg/priority/promotion/ntb/
I'm not sure whether this offer is fantastic enough but it sure sounds not bad for a noob like me

(ii) 40,000 KrisFlyer miles for a minimum deposit placement of SGD300,000 or
USD240,000
Not worth it, in my opinion. The interest they pay you on the deposit is lousy, and at 2 cents a mile, the value of the SQKF points they give you is not that much in comparision to the opportunity cost of locking the money up for six months

But for SCB, $150K needs to be in current or savings account earning paltry interest. But if you invest remainder $50K you will earn 90,000 miles in total.
But be careful about foreign currency lifting fees if depositing any currency other than SGD in SCB... you lose 1.5% when depositing foreign currencies (may be waived for USD checking account) and ANOTHER 1.5% on withdrawal. And SCB is very sneaky. Must be brand new relationship only. If you have even a credit card, you fail to qualify for the promo.

*EVA AIRWAYS CORPORATIO TAOYUAN TW TWD 410.00
SGD 17.71
This is for EVA Air SkyShop. http://eservice.evaair.com/Preorder/default.aspx
Cannot charge to Citi Rewards Card!!
MCC code is 3084: EVA Air!!
Same for Thai Airways Inflight Duty Free. MCC Code: 5309. Luckily this one I charged to UOB PRVI Miles. Cannot charge to Citi Rewards Card!!
I think ALL Inflight duty free sales cannot charge to Citi Rewards Card.
But SHIN KONG MITSUKOSHI Dept Store Taipei can earn 10x Citidollars with Citi Rewards Card. MCC Code: 5311.
Updated the excel file.

KING POWER IN FLIGHT BANGKOK TH
THB 1,133.00
SGD 46.17
Don't even have the word "Thai Airways".
Btw, I bought the Thai Airways A380 aircraft model. Got coupon for US$5 discount, so worth it.
Anyway, to earn 10x Citidollars with Citi Rewards Card overseas like Japan is really a guessing game.
At Shin-Chitose Airport, I bought soft ice-cream at shops that sell ice-cream, milkshakes, cakes like a cafe, 1 name is called Le Tao, I charge to Citi PM, the charge code is 5311, should charge to Citi Rewards Card.
I bought Shiroi Koibito at airport shops that sells boxes Japanese Sweets. Guess what? The MCC code is 5947, Gift, Card, Novelty, and Souvenir Shops.
Then I went food court a level 4, I used UOB Preferred AMEX. Did not get 10x even though I bought food because the MCC code is not 5812/3/4. It's 5399 Miscellaneous General Merchandise. So annoying.
But for ANA Festa at Kansai Airport, its like a convenience or souvenir store where I bought bread to eat. The MCC Code is 5311, can earn 10x Citidollars.
I think it's best to use general spending card overseas, unless you are very sure to earn 10x points at that particular merchant.

Hey thanks for that. Looks like we have similar travel plans. I'm heading to KIX next month and on to CTS after that. Le Tao with 10x Citi Rewards - ohhh yes - Double Frommage here I come .
I will keep the ANA Festa in mind too, but I agree in general I use a 2mls/$ card abroad for most spend in Japan unless it is a department store like Daimaru, Isetan or Taka where it should work okay on Citi Rewards. Too much hassle.
