Chase changes Hyatt transfer ratio for CSP/CIP to 4:3

According to Frequent Miler:

“Effective immediately for new Chase Sapphire Preferred and Ink Business Preferred cardholders who apply on or after June 15, 2026 (and on October 1, 2026 for those who apply prior to June 15, 2026), the transfer ratio from Ultimate Rewards to World of Hyatt will decrease from 1:1 to a rate of 4 Ultimate Rewards points to 3 World of Hyatt points (4:3). This reduced transfer ratio also applies to Ink Plus and Corporate Flex cardholders.”

CSR remains at 1:1

OMAAT wrote about this as well. Honestly I’m a bit surprised, and I know the devaluations keep coming but at some point there has to be an inflection point (clearly we haven’t reached it nor are we probably close). This is a double whammy with the Hyatt chart deval too.

i also don’t like that now different cards have different transfer ratios between partners—it’s hard to keep up, and yes, I know that’s also the point.

I am less and less interested in transferrable points. Cash is king.

I haven’t gone to cash (yet) but 69% of my spend this year is on airline cards (mostly Atmos Summit) and only 24% on transferrable points cards. Last year it was 55% on transferrable points cards. Chase is down to 17% of my total spend this year.

Will have to make some major decisions before the new higher AF hits my CSR in the fall.

I imagine transferring points from CSP/Ink to CSR will still work to get 1-1 Hyatt Transfer?

I’d think so. Chase basically wants to give you a reason to hold not cancel the CSR.

Reddit post from the official Chase account: https://www.reddit.com/r/ChaseSapphi...ire_preferred/

The Hyatt deval is unfortunate but there are some positive changes.

Today we’re announcing updates to the Chase Sapphire Preferred card with new earn categories and expanded travel credits and protections, with no change to the $95 annual fee.

New earn categories, credits and benefits

Earning power will be strengthened by the addition of 3x points on gas and EV charging, and 3x points on vacation homes at top brands like Airbnb and Vrbo.

Cardmembers will also receive a $100 Chase Travel Hotel Credit (doubled from the previous $50 credit), and a fee credit up to $120 toward Global Entry, TSA PreCheck or NEXUS every four years.

Additionally, cardmembers will receive a complimentary Apple TV subscription for one year when activated by December 31, 2026.
and "the card will be adding Emergency Evacuation and Transportation coverage"

yes: "[...] for Sapphire Preferred cardmembers who apply on or after June 15, 2026, Ultimate Rewards points will transfer to World of Hyatt at a rate of 4:3. This change becomes effective October 1, 2026, for cardmembers who applied prior to June 15. There are no changes to the Sapphire Reserve." (bolding added)

Just looking for a little advice/feedback.

I currently have around 100,000 Hyatt points and about 450,000 CHASE UR points.

I have the Chase Ink Preferred and am thinking about transferring another 50,000 UR points to Hyatt before the October 1 devaluation, thinking that a 150,000 Hyatt balance can cover at least 5 nights at a decent hotel if I decide to or need to go on a big trip to a Hyatt heavy area.....

I last got the CSR in 2017, and canceled around 2022, so maybe the next time I need to transfer more to Hyatt, I'll reapply for the CSR and see if I can get a new account bonus.

Is anyone else planning to make one more large transfer before the October 1 devaluation?

Wow, did not see this coming. My spend on chase cards outside the WoH CC has really dropped as of recent, and now I don't see a good reason to accumulate URs.
This makes the WoH CC earning seem better now as you also get EQN. If there is a premium WoH CC coming, then that could get my attention, but CSR and its coupons are not worth the 1:1 ratio

With the devaluation, I curbed my Hyatt loyalty. Now this has me question the true value of Hyatt--especially given their relatively small footprint.

If one is looking solely at WOH points accumulation, it still makes sense to charge dining purchases to the CSP, rather than to the WOH Visa. A $40 dining purchase would earn 120 UR points, which would convert to 90 WOH points; a $40 dining purchase charged to the WOH Visa would earn just 80 WOH points.
