Question A LHR - GOT flight is no longer offering seats for sale on 17 May - what's going on?

Trying to book a colleague onto the BA788 LHR - GOT for Sunday 17th May, 1435hrs departure. I already have one colleague on it, but now two need to travel.

However, can only get ba.com to show one flight for that day, on a 06.20hrs departure.

Could this mean the flight is full and no longer available, in any class? I looked at the previous Sunday, and it's offered on that date.

Or is BA removing certain flights for sale which they plan to cancel imminently, to save fuel?!

Any ideas? Really want my two colleagues to travel together!

The return flight is still available, which to me suggests that they are not going to cancel it. The outbound is showing as 0 seats available for all booking codes, which suggests its full.

EF shows that flight as zeroed out across all classes, so my immediate assumption is that it's simply fully booked.

Thank you both - really helpful, and much appreciated. Wonder what on earth's happening in GOT on a Sunday evening in the middle of May!

Thh way that BA.COM doesn't show flights on booking page which are full is really annoying - its looks like a flight has been cancelled when it hasn't. It's very customer unfriendly and causes issues and confusion as the OP shows.
This "enhancement" on the website happened a couple of years ago at the last website revamp ...

BA have decreased capacity to GOT from 3 daily about a year a go to one or two flights daily limiting the supply of seats overall serving LHR-GOT/GOT-LHR.

BA is the sole carrier serving LHR to and from GOT.

There are 5 non-stop flights that day from London airports to GOT on a mixture of BA, Norwegian and Ryanair. Only the earlier BA flight has seats for sale.

Just a guess but Thursday 14th is Ascension Day which is a public holiday in Sweden (similar to many other western & northern European countries). Many folks will take the Friday off as well to have a 4-day weekend. This Sunday afternoon flight from London sounds ideal for folks returning home after a long weekend away.

Could well be, I'd looked to see if it had something to do with a major cruise ship departure or something, but couldn't see that either.

Crazy level of demand. We book travel to GOT quite regularly and had never encountered this before...

There's only 2 flights that day LHR-GOT, but the first leaves at 0620 so way too early for anyone flying into LHR to connect onto. As such, anyone connecting in LHR to GOT that day has to to take the later flight. It's a 319 with less than 140 seats, so it's not hard to see why it's fully booked already. If you're lucky, BA might upgauge it to a 320.

It's a real shame they don't operate the nightstopping service anymore - clearly there's a lot of demand.

Hah, thats cos I cancelled the colleague booked on it and instead booked them both to CPH. Where they were headed was a roughly equal length onward journey from GOT or CPH, so just worked it a different way!
