Are you the next big travel influencer?

Received an email from BA asking if I was the next big travel influencer with reference to various social media websites…There is a link to register interest…Just wondered if anyone on this forum was an influencer for British Airways ??

Yep I got that email on 16th May. As I mentioned in another thread recently, I’d be very unimpressed if someone was wandering around the cabin taking videos.

Plus for the last week on a Greek island, there were so many wannabe instagramers wandering around, blocking small alleyways etc, the last thing we need is BA promoting even more of it!

I’m sure BA would love the free advertising though.

Social media does tend to attract a lot of OTT negative drivel as well.

I generally tend to ignore stuff from ‘influencers’ since by definition they are being paid, directly or via advertising, to push a certain view. I prefer to take a wider range of views and do my own research. YVMV.

I go further, seeing an influencer at breakfast or by the pool at a hotel filming actually puts me off returning to said hotel.

I didn’t get the email but perhaps I should write to BA, tell them I have 5 followers on Instagram (3 off which are family), and demand return first class flights that I can then review and post on my channel (once I’ve worked out what that is)?

I can't even influence my close family, but 6 year old grand-daughter seems to be growing in to an influencer. Are there well known tricks to dissuade her?

Those of us who've been in the BA Forum for a while, will know a few "Content Creators" roam in these pastures!
