LGW-LHR transfer

Is National Express coach the best option? Will be arriving into LGW from CUN but no flights from LGW to Glasgow or Edinburgh so we need to get to Heathrow. Usually we go easy jet but were let down by their cancellations this weekend so decided to try BA the full way next time. Previously reluctant to do this due to limited flights from Glasgow to LGW (only one per day)

For more than two pax I’d grab an Uber / pre book taxi. For two, it’s a fine line

I mean a tight call. Being circa 25 each, three or more a taxi is better value / comfort / ease to get dropped to the door of T5. For seven people I would look at private transfers for sure

1 = National Express coach
2 = National Express coach or Uber/pre booked taxi. Not a lot of difference
3 = Uber/pre booked taxi.
7 = Contact a limo/minibus service. May get 1 vehicle. but may depend on your baggage.

Right now two UberXL for up to six people in each, so plenty of space, would be 82 each, so around 23.50 each. I’d go with that or similar. The CUN flight lands late morning so shouldn’t be much M25 traffic issues..

Thanks - appreciate it. Is it easy to get an uber in Gatwick? I've only used in Florida previously

For that many people I'd prebook, rather than try an Uber.

Yes I think I'd prefer to have something pre booked as my parents are elderly so don't want the uncertainty

This being the BA forum, it is commonplace to sweat the small stuff and have multiple opinions on said discussion. The colour of the wheelnuts on the transfer vehicle between airports still hasn't been covered so there's plenty of mileage left in this subject yet.

Jokes aside, while perhaps wheelnut discussions might be taking things a tad too far, there's generally always a great response to questions in the BA forum. I'd sooner see pages of waffle relating to a question than minimal/no interaction which is all too frequent in other airline forums.

A bit if topic, but I dont suppose you know the luggage capacity of an UberXL vs standard Uber. Everything Ive read says that they can carry more passengers, but nothing about luggage space.
Weve an open jaw flight in the next couple of weeks with the outbound from LGW and the return into LHR. The plan is to drop the car off at LHR (weve got a fantastic rate with Blue Circle Meet & Greet) and take an Uber down to the LGW Hilton where we will be staying for the night. Problem is that we will have 2 large suitcases, 1 medium suitcase plus a couple of hand luggage items between the two of us and Im concerned that we wont get it all in the Uber.
We decided against National Express based on their luggage policy.

Worth bearing in mind if you're a large group, from recent experience of using UberXL getting to/from Hotels at Gatwick as a group of four with four bags, every vehicle that turned up was of the type where it was six seats with no luggage and two sat in the boot or four seats with luggage space.
