Jetstar to [potentially] have more flights to Queenstown from Australia
Jetstar haven't flown Brisbane to Queenstown before.
As it's just about impossible to get a Qantas classic frequent flyer ticket Brisbane to Queenstown in winter, might mean there are now some Qantas frequent flyer tickets on Jetstar.
They might be taking up slack from Virgin reduced flights Brisbane to Queenstown.

Do you have a source for this?
You've previously posted a lot of speculation (https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/sear...1&pp=25&query=) and there are no press releases stating that Jetstar is launching flights to Queenstown from Brisbane.

From what dates?
Queensland is not (yet) in the NZ-AU (one way) quarantine free bubble, so unsure how non stop flights would work.
AU government (16 Oct)---> https://www.pm.gov.au/media/safe-tra...ne-new-zealand
<snip>
After offering these arrangements at the latest National Cabinet, we have reached agreement for this first stage of quarantine-free travel with New South Wales and the Northern Territory. We welcome those jurisdictions’ commitment to reopening Australia to the world.

NZ does not (yet) accept the "quarantine free" on arrival concept.
So need to spend 14 days in isolation, Cost can be ~$3000 depending the individual situation.
NZ Government web site does not list any Queenstown MIQ hotels.

But as a guess would be hotels that may be suitable. But that would mean no local guests.
Edit
JQ used to fly OOL-ZQN
JQ are selling seats for AKL-ZQN

Yeah not happening under current arrangements due to the need for government to take over multiple hotels for quarantine and managed isolation.
BTW JQ also has WLG-ZQN.

Spoke to a snow holiday operator in Sydney, who said fares right now to Queenstown are high (less flights, plenty of people with credits to use), but with Jetstar starting to fly Bris/Queenstown, there should be some cheaper options, if a little bit day of week flexible. Not sure how late you can land & take off from Queenstown, but do recall some flights departing after 9pm, since daytime curfew relaxed.

Can you please link the Jetstar announcement for this route??

We're talking 8 months away, not tomorrow.
There will be many flights to NZ. NZ needs tourists more than Australia & we are desperate for them, from anywhere. Both economies are stuffed without large scale tourism returning ASAP.

So - basically, this whole thread was clickbait then?
There is no actual suggestion by the airline that it will have more flights from AU to ZQN, but just speculation by a 3rd party?

1stly airlines go to tour operators to see if they can sell their seats, offering all sorts of incentives for a new route. Most of seats to places like queenstown in winter sold by agents not online.
2ndly, there are probably 1000s who were booked this year, but couldn't go, who are rolling over their flights until next year & if qantas passengers, jetstar is not ideal but will suffice.
3rdly, virgin are probably not doing as many flights per week.
Makes perfect sense. The catch might be getting accommodation in Queenstown.

Also while JQ does fly to ZQN, it’s not an budget destination. Not very much within the main market for JQ,

The thread title states "Jetstar to have more flights to Queenstown from Australia" - a statement of fact, not that it is speculation based on a talk to a travel agent
There was nothing in the post itself to indicate this is speculative
Even after the 1st replies querying the accuracy, there was nothing to update that it wasnt an official statement
Only the 3rd reply was it admitted that this was just some speculation from a travel agent

[mod hat] I have edited the thread title but will ask everyone to remain on topic which is the possibility of JQ flights between Brisbane and Queenstown. [/mod hat]

Often with new routes, agents/wholesalers get the deal from hell, if they actually commit to buy a certain number of seats/or hand over the cash up front, often at prices that are at a loss, on the basis, they must package up with a minimum sell price. Seen it happen many times.

You once again posted speculation as fact - until a moderator fixed the thread title it was pure click bait leading to misrepresentation of the situation
