Effective April 30, 2018 the partnership between KLM and Alaska Airlines will end. Our other global partners serve all of the top destinations members have earned miles to in the past with KLM, but we recognize that this change leaves a gap in coverage to some small European destinations. Europe continues to be a key focus area, served by partners including British Airways, Icelandair, Condor, and Finnair, and well continue to evaluate additional partnerships to serve your needs both to and within Europe.

Changes to Air France partnership?
I was searching around for awards from BOS to PPT and award flights stop after March 2018. Is their partnership changing post-March (at least for the Tahiti) flights? I'm not sure since I couldn't find anything on Google apart from Air France changing their structure in 2018 too, but they didn't mentioned anything specific to AS.

I see AF availability to Europe as far out as October 2018 using AS miles.

For what it's worth, I can't get LAX-PPT flights that are available with AS miles to show up with Delta (eg on Feb 3, returning Feb 9).

Am on PPT/LAX/SEA on a reward in O(reward business) this January, though my connecting flight got moved by Alaska so I'm stuck with a 4 hour layover at LAX because Alaska won't move me forward to an earlier LAX/SEA leg.
I also heard some rumblings about the partnership ending because of Air France being a partner with Delta and Delta/Alaska now being larger competitors. (IE, why LAM is out with Alaska). Haven't heard anything further.
Alaska seems to be getting less and less availability route wise with the majority of it's partners. Very limited routes on generally older interiors. Or in some cases(Australia/NZ) no availability at all outside of economy rewards. That said, I don't know how much negotiating power Alaska has with these other carriers and PPT is likely a very popular route for rewards. Was pretty stoked to be able to find one.

I think available is totally sparse on the Air France metal LAX-PPT. Almost nothing in economy with only 1 or 2 days with 2 economy seats available as of earlier this year when I was travelling through there.
Air Tahiti Nui has much better availability. This is of no consolation to those trying to use Alaska Miles on AF metal but they seem to be few and far between EVERYWHERE; not just on this route. . .

Just saw AS new commerical on Youtube. When you pulse at 0:25, you will notice that AM, KLM and AF are no longer there as a partner. I know AM will end at the end of the year, I am speculating AF/KLM will follow soon...

People have speculated about it in the past because of the DL divorce and the DL/AF/KL joint venture, but so far there hasn't been anything to substantiate that. But this is curious.

I would say as soon as the current contract is over, the partnerships will also be done. Given that DL is in a JV with both, they may well have a say in what gets advertised in the US market and has no incentive what-so-ever to encourage people to either use or post miles to AS.
