Hot Rock Massage at the Boulders

While I have not personally had it, my wife got one the weekend we got engaged...some 8+ years ago now...whenever we go back to phoenix/scottsdale, she will make the drive just for that treatment...she is a spa junkie and still says they do the hot rock massage the best...

For me, it was the couples massage and body scrub at he Four Seasons Jimbaran bay in Bali...nothing like standing but naked with your spouse having two attractive balinese women "scrub" your body down then cover you in warm yogurt and rinse you off...I think there is a reason they send you off to the "private tub" area immediately afterwards...

I had a pretty stellar massage at the Breakers a year or so ago, and a great men's facial treatment at the Pinehurst Spa shortly thereafter. I was very impressed with both facilities.

best spa treatment

1. Taj Lake Palace - Indian foot massage - best ever.

2. Amanpuri, Phuket - The Aman 'special' (done this twice - both incredible)

3. Four Seasons Langkawi - beautiful spa, great treatments & therapists

4. Amanbagh, India - one of the best Reiki treatments ever

5. Four Seasons Hotel Doha - very well designed, big spa, great treatments and love the colour therapy room.

I had wonderfult SPA treatments in FS Langkawi and FS Koh Samui. I am not sure whether it was the treatments themselves or the absolutely beautiful SPA pavillions that made me love these SPAs, but it does not really matter as the combination was magic!

I also still dream about a fantastic and loads cheaper full royal lulur (traditional bride ritual from Indonesia) that I had many years ago in Waka di Ume, Ubud, Bali.

The fitness area affords guests views of Las Vegas and includes a treadmill, two elliptical machines and complimentary waters and juices. Private use of the fitness area is available for a $50 per hour fee.

SKYSPA introduces a special menu of spa treatments that includes:

Thai Raindrop Therapy - This treatment combines Thai table stretches with essential oils dropped on the spine followed by a warm stone massage. 75 minutes, $300

Swedish - Classic Swedish techniques are used to reduce stress and increase relaxation with soothing vanilla oils. 50 minutes, $200; 75 minutes, $300

Nirvana - This massage treatment combines East and West massage cultures. The Indian style of abhyanga massage and shirodhara hot oil scalp treatment is enhanced with a copper foot-balancing bowl massage to instill a meditative state. Warm stones and ayurvedic herbal oils complete the experience. 75 minutes, $300

The Dreaming Ritual - This two-hour ritual begins with an herbal foot soak and continues with a desert salt rub and rich body mud masks, followed by hand, foot and scalp treatments. The finale is an Australian aboriginal massage. 120 minutes, $400

Couples Dreaming - The couples side-by-side Dreaming Ritual is followed by soaking in a hot tub with champagne and fresh strawberries. 180 minutes, $900

We tried the Couples Massage and the Coconut Milk Bath. Both were very enjoyable. I've also heard very good things about the Aromatherapy and Stone Massage. They also have really neat therapies from all over the world.

In addition to the spa treatments themselves, I actually really liked their spa atmosphere in general. Pretty nice locker/relaxation room, fantastic gym, and a great eucalyptus steam sauna.

The four-hand three-hour massage in our Borobudur Pool Suite at Amanjiwo was pretty special!
