For Skyteam I always fly US to CDG, CDG to VIE and then when ready to move to other parts of Austria hop on the train.

Did you look at Innsbruck?

If Mr.J and I do make it to the DO, we would be delighted if anyone would like to join us for a Nockerln tasting (possibly at Stiftskeller St. Peter, the oldest restaurant in Central Europe and located in the basement of the Salzburg basilica).
I make this at home...it's actually fairly easy! ^

INN is about 160 km far away from SZG, also reachable with train in about 2 hours or by car in 1,5 hours.

Can't wait to get back into your M3 in Florida.
I'm currently driving a nice Sixt BMW 6 series convertible here in Germany.

The thing is that Austria has a strict speed limit, on this specific route often down to 100 km/h due to "air pollution" plus there's another speed limit in Germany from the A/D-border to the Inntal Dreieck, followed by more speed limits on the always crowded 2-lane A8 to the D/A-border, not to mention another general speed limit in Austria until one finally reaches SZG.

End of May we will set the final times for the events at the DO. Then we will also start with the subscription for the DOs event at eventbrite.

I hope airfares go down by May. Still around $800 to MUC.

CP Salzburg - Hotel Offer

Superior Room (if you are an AMB or RA, you will definitive get an upgrade to the a Junior Suite) for only 155 EUR per day including breakfast - (Advanced payment rate without breakfast is now for this weekend at 297 EUR). We need about 15 rooms booked, to get this price, which is really a good offer.

If you are thinking to stay in this hotel with that rate, let me now by sending me a PM and I can make a cancelable booking for you. We should book the rooms until end of May.

Sheraton is fully booked and they can´t give us a special rate.

Cool. I'd like a reservation for Saturday till Sunday.
Of course, with zero status, I'll get the worst room of the house.

Thank you szg for checking on this. However I may be tempted to stay at the Ibis Salzburg Nord, at €53 a night (breakfast extra). Do you know, is there public transportation from the Ibis to the city center?

Yes, there is a public transport. The bus station is in front of the hotel and is connected with the city (its about a 30 minute ride).
