If we had tens of requests for help with BA OneWorld awards, there would be a sticky for that too...
I think this forum and the AA forum are equally good at answering AA OW award questions. The expertise is a little different (all carrier routing possibilites vs. exact AA rules) but its not like it overwhelms the forum...

I started the sticky because: (a) I was interested in oneworld awards; and (b) I was interested in using AA miles to get those awards. Before the sticky, there was endless discussion about the same issues on this forum and the AA forum, often with differing answers. I got frustrated and, as much for my benefit as anyone else's, decided to do a synthesis of what seemed to be the consensus about the rules. I didn't (and still don't) have the time or the interest to do a sticky about oneworld awards using miles from other oneworld airlines.
I assume that only the grumpiest among us would object to someone starting a sticky entitled "oneworld awards using British Airways miles" or whatever oneworld airline most tickles his or her fancy.

(a) delete any reference to "AA miles" from the title.
(b) account for the differences between airlines within the text.
(c) leave it here.

moderator please close this thread as I have found the information I was looking for and it seems that this has moved off my topic. Thank you all for your input.

Well since you can connect through a city twice there is no reason you could not fly DFW-BKK-LHR-DXB-LHR-DFW. This assumes that you are flying to BKK via HKG, and not LHR or NRT as LHR would result in 3 connections via that airport which is not allowed, and NRT results in BC travel. Since there is a BKK flight arriving LHR at 7 AM and the DXB flight departs LHR at 12:40 you are within the 6 hours rule there. Itinerary times between DFW-DXB shown below:
DFW-LAX 7:50P/8:54P (AA)
LAX-HKG 11:55P/5:35A (CX)
HKG-BKK 8:55A/10:30A (CX 713 only FC between HKG-BKK)
BKK-LHR 12:45A/7:00A (QF) Note: Getting an award on this flight might be a bit tough
LHR-DXB 12:40P/10:35P (BA)
As for the rest of you, please forgive me for staying ON TOPIC.
