I assume this is a one-way fare that you are looking for.
QR might rebook you, or not, on AF. If the situation drags on, which is likely for 29/3, fares on alternative airlines will shoot up quickly.
Hence you have the choice between a rather stress-free non stop airline at high price or getting ready for spending lot of time and energy and hoping for a favorable rerouting. You will not have much priority for rebooking from QR on a ticket purchased well after the war started in a cheap fare class.
Thanks for chimming in. I also think there wont be any economy class seats available on AF two days out, 99% it will be sold out.

Does QR look at the purchase date and fare class when rebooking? I think if a flight is cancelled they kinda ought to transport all affected pax no mated when a ticket was purchased.

Off topic. Almost booked JNB-CDG with EY (business for only 900 eur), thankfully checked FT first. You guys have it easy, hey . EY point blank say to passengers to go f*** themselves, no rebooking whatsoever.

I would hope they would prioritise those passengers who booked prior to the 28Feb. Clearly you are contemplating a booking knowing there is a high chance of disruption.

Looking at Google flights for DOH-US in early April, it looks like many destinations are zeroed out but quite a few are for sale (more than currently operating).

For example, LAX zeroed out through end of April. But double daily DFW still showing operating

Likely announcement from QR coming soon?

Well... you can hope for anything, second coming, anyone? However QR is selling tickets for 29/03, which indicates that it voluntarily wants to enter in a contract of carriage. No one forces QR to do so. If I also enter into contracted relationships with QR then it has obligations to provide me with contracted services as it has with you.

Anyways date of purchase as a basis for rebooking priority sounded a bit unrealistic, now I see it is hope, okay.

There are more information. Does it mean one can rebook on tier 1 partners within 10 days?

If cancelled already, 10 days. But they will only reroute on tier 1 airlines.

Yes, several in this thread including myself. I was re-routed with BA in J 8 days in advance. Booked with avios.

What's the current speculation on status extensions? I have a trip coming up in early May that would take care of the 4 segments for the year (status renewal July). Are they just renewing people who expire in a given period or maybe waive 4 segment requirement. I will have enough points, it's just the 4 QR segments.
