I see a lot of ex-DXB flights making a stop at DWC/AUH before proceeding to their destinations. I take it that this is because of the strikes earlier today at the fuel depot? Ouch, that must hurt even more for EK badly in terms of planning and revenue.

Anyone know why flight EK27 got routed to Madina on the way to Glasgow tonight? It left DXB some what 12 hours late and was showing before departure to stopping over at Riyadh but after take off its showing as stopping over in Madina?

So I don’t know, but an inspired guess would be, because of the drone attack on the fuel farm earlier today they need to pick up fuel on the way. Medina being further west it’s probably less vulnerable to attacks than Riyadh.

Pure speculation on my part, with a modicum of knowledge due to my career.

Similar to EK151, the flight made a stop in Jeddah before continuing on to Copenhagen. Likely for a refueling stop.

This is a clear example of how secrecy is negatively impacting Dubai. They should simply say, the fuel farm was hit, we have a fuel shortage at the airport. The damage is being assessed and we will update the public once we have a time line for getting things back up and running. The everything is just fine here story has run its course and is getting to be more damaging to EK than being honest and transparent would be at this point.

Well, a fuel tank was hit. I found out when I got the Gulf News breaking news alert on my phone and desktop yesterday (not sure if behind a paywall, but attached: https://gulfnews.com/uae/fire-contai...nt-1.500475657).

But if this thread is to be believed, the entire tank farm was hit, and it has not been reported by secretive (yes, sometimes, but not always and this is not the “perfect example”) UAE authorities. People seeking truth by spreading half-truths. Rich irony.

Literally from the official Government of Dubai's Media Office:

From reporting ....

... to containment ...

... to extinguished.

From the ground, the smoke was definitely visible from most areas of Dubai (including from my office area near Downtown about 20 minutes from the airport), and caused a haze in many areas.

My hope was the OP would reply to confirm it was hit and I’d then ask them how they knew. Which would then dig up official reports and thus render the OPs point….well, pointless.

The airport is in the middle of the city. Extraordinary people think something like that can be kept secret.

In case of flight cancellation by Emirates, what is their current policy about rebooking on other airlines, if i don't want a refund or a future date booking on Emirates itself?
Can it be literally any other airline or is there a list of specific partners? Does this have to be a European route with stronger protections, or does Emirates help reroute other parts of the world also?

Also will they match the same cabin passengers have booked to fly in or will they downgrade F to J, J to PE and PE to E?
