Well that is disappointing. But I’d also say that I’ve found the menu less than ideal too.

And oh yeah, I have an offer to stay at Rio for $12 a night all in, no resort fee (Masquerade Tower) in Iro Rewards (I am a base level player). A stay via Hyatt channels is around $80/nt for the same dates.

Pretty no-brainer for me to spend $12 and not get benefits (especially since I am not Globalist).

Someone has to subsidize that free luxurious powdered 🥚 egg breakfast. The toast was bankrupting everyone
Hence the 67% devaluation

I really am hoping perhaps they'll have some better high protein, healthy options here - with a decent egg product.

The carby menu before was meh once you got into it

The entire ongoing kerfuffle about Rio breakfast is something to behold (from someone who will never, ever SNIFF Globalist but stayed with one and used a GoH award or two and is also happy to stay there with zero benefits- I even stayed there when it was a Caesars joint and you could wheedle your way into Wyndham/Caesars Diamond and be excused from the resort fee). The rooms were a dump but it was a $10 stay (and once again those kind of room rates are back during low times if you have Rio Rewards accounts).

I mean... HH was OK? The coffee was regularly, actively bad when you couldn't get an Americano (which was often). Food was fine but nothing special.

If the reports upthread from jerry a. laska and GumboCook are correct it's not a terrible buffet and there's no powdered eggs. And frankly if they serve decent coffee instead of caffeinated battery acid I'd forgive a downgrade on food.

Anyway the Hyatt stuff is going to probably squeeze more value because, as stated, this place was a steal at 12-15k on a weekend in Vegas where rates everywhere are through the roof. 20k not so much since that's $200 if we're talking "cash out UR points". It's also an EDC shuttle stop which is a big plus for those weekends when you're "coming home" at sunrise...

The big thing here is free parking since the MGM properties, that's $20 a night if you're not Pearl, $50+ resort fees if you're not Gold...

(Yeah, I know, I am talking about actually staying there for something other than a Hyatt elite night credit.)

Somebody is actually staying spending the night in Rio? What? For real?

I put 20,000 points value @ 300 to 340 dollars if we go by the last number of years and the general consensus of 1.5 to 1.7 per point.Having said that in the new upcoming “World of Pain” annihilation
when the smoke of the smoldering ruins subsides it’s anyone’s guess what’s left Hyatt pesos?
And will Hyatts management team still have a job or will they be right alongside Southwest ex management.🙄I hear Delta is hiring

On a “free” casino stay this weekend, after earlier stays using Glob status in the renovated part of the hotel. There’s no delicate way to put this: the Rio is an absolute dump. Staying in the Masquerade Tower, only one elevator was working - one! For dozens of floors! The hotel posted a sign saying that their elevators are doing a “glow up”, so thanks for your patience. One elevator for an entire bank of floors is unsafe and unacceptable. Also: we received no housekeeping. Calling the front desk just takes you to “Rita”, the AI tool - which is useless. After waiting on hold for 30 minutes to speak to a person in an escalation queue, that person just said they were unable to do anything - they were just there to take the heat from whatever the AI tool couldn’t handle.

All of this is ridiculous. We will never stay here again, under any circumstance.

The rooms in the Masquerade tower are abysmal. Run down, threadbare, non-functional electrical outlets …

The good news is that we won in the casino. They provided abysmal service; we left with their money.

Will be over at the Rio in April to see Penn and Teller. My work rate here is $55/nt and no resort fee (also waived as Glob) and I'm wondering if I wanted to pick up some EQNs without actually sleeping here, how many days I could get away with before I'd be noticed as an early departure if I checked in, messed up the sheets and towels a bit, and left.

Sorry to hear but also not a big surprise
this place has always been lipstick on an old tired pig.
But at least you made out well in the end.
i do hear Rita is quite insulted and had her feelings hurt 😢
Rio execs adore her and proud of her customer service
Many of here are excited that soon we will have the privilege of redeeming here for 37 to 67% more 😳

Ive done 3 nights after I actually left down. I put up the do not disturb and left an old toothbrush and tshirt just in case they checked. I have a feeling they’re doing more strict checks at the moment though.

Dang I was here early Feb. Now returning and did not lurk the thread as that new globalist buffet is hot ..... The potatoes are the same as the entrees but everything else is nasty. No lattes or iced latte or cappucino orders. Only iced coffee + juice. Disgusting weiners + coronary artery bacon. Eggs are definitely the prepowdered crap from Sysco. Bagels are probably sysco too. It was too good to be true in the long run. Another sad nerf but we'll see how the ghost stay goes during the weekday. At least I can cut more calories in Vegas whenever I swing by for a weekend. InKind for the win.

Dear Guest
Are you coming back for your toothbrush and old stained t shirt?

last month I had checked in around 11PM for a Ipanema room which is the norm as globalist but did not bother opening the room because I was staying at a timeshare property. I finished and got back at Rio at lunch. They had already booted my reservation and I had to re-check in again but kept my reservation and send me to masquerade.

You've gotta open the door. They know if you don't.
