They have unlimited limitations, typically every 15ths of my bookings allows for it and I fly out of ZRH. They should allow to use them on any bookings on LX ticket stock or at least all codeshares, or all LHG flights with codeshare as the bare minimum.

Yes, it is rather painful. LX metal only, no Lx train segments, no wk, no LHG or other codeshares, no intra Switzerland, no..

Agreed, I also get it, but looking at the network/LHG/Hub reality maybe a LX ticket stock, all LX flight numbers and 50%-75% on LX metal rule would be more customer friendly. I primarily buy through LX and most of the times run into the issue of having 1 stray leg in there where I can't fly Swiss metal (meeting times, destination etc.)
And as Swiss has never offered me a higher voucher instead of cash, so I can't relate to that part (while I know that it is supposed to happen and had it with other airlines) - it always ended with voucher accepted as not worth further hassle or cash (higher than anything they offered previously) for me.
But yeah, they have to draw the line somewhere, but it feels a bit too close to home
