If you were travelling Business on BA to the USA you could get into a number of Lounges at LHR.
Why can't you do the same on Aer Lingus - ie get into it's Lounge right before pre-clearance ?
Would it cause capacity problems ?

Its alot smaller and would be standing room only. It was designed for a time when the Aer Lingus network was a lot smaller. The lounge after pre clearance is the only one that can cope with the volumes. Anyway not long now and all the lounges currently under renovation / construction in both terminals will be open again.

I was flying LH in business recently and they have no lounge at the moment with T1 closed. We decided the have a main course and a soft drink at Fallow. I raised a ticket the other day with the receipt attached and they responded with an apology and 100 bank transfer. I am SEN with them so possible SEN + business increased this a bit but I am genuinely satisfied with the offer even if I did have to ask first - 50pp for no lounge on a 2 hour flight is generous in my opinion.

Apparently the suggested date is April fools day, a fact that the staff member behind the counter in the T2 lounge had a good laugh at when she told me. She feels it's highly unlikely.

So, flying DUB-MCO on sat 28th Feb (next week) and recieved today and email from Aer Lingus about the flisure if 51st and green and 20voucher, but either someone didn't proofread, or hadn't updated the email lol
it states:
"We wanted to let you know that due to refurbishment, the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) will be temporarily closing its 51st&Green Lounge beside the US bound departure gates from 01 October 2025 01 February 2026.
What will this mean for my flight (booking code removed by me)?
Unfortunately, you will not be able to access the 51st&Green Lounge during this time. You are, however, very welcome to access the Reserved Seating Area in Terminal 2. Here, you can relax and enjoy this space exclusively, away from the main bustle of the airport.
Will I be able to access another lounge?
Unfortunately, while this refurbishment is taking place, the Reserved Seating Area will be the only space available for our Business Class customers.
Where to find the Reserved Seating Area
This area is located in Terminal 2, before you enter the US Preclearance facility. Simply take the escalator located in Duty Free next to Butler's Coffee. Then, recharge and relax with charge points and flight-information screens around you.
It's approximately a 10-minute walk to US Preclearance, so do allow yourself some time to get to your departure gate.
Enjoy a complimentary 20 voucher
A 20 voucher will be automatically loaded onto your boarding pass. You can use it at a variety of shops and restaurants across Terminal 2.
We apologise for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding while these improvements are being made.
Kind regards,
Aer Lingus team"
wait....what? So, according to this email, the 51et and green is open as its past 1st Feb 26 or its still closed as per tte reet of the email lol
I know it's still closed lol
Well done confusing the matter Aer Lingis

Visited the reserved seating area yesterday for the first time as I was flying on United. It's .... grand I guess. Couple of staff there bored out of their trees on their phones, and I was the only person in it for the duration. Plenty of comfy seats and it's realtively quiet. Didn't get any notification from United about the €20 and forgot to try to use it.

Yesterday I couldn't find a way to use the 20 quid up the stairs at the "Street-food" section. Anyone had any success??
In any case since we were gate 426 I got two small bottles of malbec at the cafe/bar there for 19 euro and they were great for the connecting Jet Blue flight later in the day with a packet of Keoghs crisps :-)
